CPOE is important in reducing the incidences of medication errors, ensuring that orders are eligible, quickens time for completing physician workflow, support point-of-care clinical decision, and increase patient safety through medication interaction checks. CDSS refers to a system that gives clinicians real-time results on various diagnostic and treatment information as they are fed into electronic orders (AHRQ, 2019). The values of CDSS include enhanced medication safety, quality of care, efficiency in hospital workflow, enhanced adherence to provider guidelines, and reduced cost of care.
